Celebrating 60 Years of adidas

60 years of adidas is enough reason to celebrate non-stop. To stay relevant for this long, and in adidas's case, hip and fresh, is a feat that is worth harping about. No wonder the Adidas folks came out with a year long celebration dubbed “60 Years of Soles and Stripes”, where adidas fans can look forward to lots of new product releases all throughout the year!

The anniversary celebration kicked off with a 6009 House Party Celebrating Originality at Embassy last February 27, which happened simultaneously with four other House Parties in Southeast Asia- Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

It was also a fun way to present the latest from adidas - adidas Vespa, Women's Select Pack, the street-luxe adidas Superstar 80’s Diamond and the Originals by Originals (ObyO) collection.

The adidas Originals 6009 House Party Celebrating Originality was co-presented by Powerade Sports Drink. The Manila party was beamed live across the other SEA parties courtesy of ABS-CBN Interactive, PLDT MyDSL, and Astone Computers, and was also accessed via www.abs-cbn.com and www.amped.ph. Other partners include Bacardi, Viva Mineralized Water, adidas Personal Care, and Citibank.

One of the stand-outs of all these collections, for me at least, would be the special edition ‘Diamond Pack’ featuring classics such as the adidas Superstar sneaker and Trefoil logo T-shirt. Because yes, its the shiny pretty things that catch my eye, heehee!

Check out the Superstar 80’s Diamond, a pair of sneakers that will set you back Php36,000. "What! That much for a pair of sneakers, this better have diamonds!" you might think. Well, yes, now that you've mentioned it, this does have all that precious stuff! This anniversary edition of the “Superstar 80’s Diamond” has a total of twelve 0.2 carat diamonds in between the trademark 3-Stripes.

The sneaker tongue, lace locks and shoe lace caps are also studded with Swarovski crystals.

It also has a Swarovski-encrusted detachable metal tongue ornament that can also be worn as a pendent.

Engraved above the Trefoil on the tongue’s pendent is the inscription “The Brand With The 3-stripes” and marked with a ‘hand-written’ stamp of “60 Years of Soles and Stripes” on the side sole, commemorating the anniversary of company founder Adi Dassler’s introduction of the iconic 3-stripes in 1949.

Hey, if we girls pay between $600 to over $1000 for Louboutins, Rupert Sandersons, Lanvins, Pierre Hardys, Choos, and Blahniks, and the most we can get are supple leather, satin, glass beads, rhinestones and crystals in our shoes, this pair of sneakers with diamonds and crystals is not a bad deal at all! Not to mention the exclusivity! There are only 11 pairs of this shoe available in Manila via the adidas Originals Concept Store at Trinoma and Theodore’s the Store at Bonifacio High Street.

If you can't cough up that much for a pair of sneaks, then get the adi Trefoil T-shirt that starts at Php1,395. Just like its flashy Superstar counterpart, the matching “Diamond Pack” T-shirt also features 409 Swarovski crystals that make up the iconic adidas Trefoil logo.

Another favorite would be the ObyO or the originals by originals collection -- the adidas' collaboration between adidas Originals and three of the world’s most unique and creative streetwear and fashion designers. Jeremy Scott, Alyasha, and Kazuki have each created a mini collection of groundbreaking adidas Originals apparel and footwear products for men and women. ObyO is exclusively available at Theodore’s the Store.

Coinciding with the re-opening of the adidas Sport Performance store at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell was the launch of adidas by Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 09.

Here's what to expect from dear Stella:

The new spring/summer 09 range continues to re-define and challenge traditional sport silhouettes with the new collection featuring sheer, lightweight performance fabrics and constructed design features taking inspiration from Atlantic sailing adventures in the new Gym Studio range and ornate English Edwardian petticoats and nightwear in the prints and cuts of the Tennis line. This season, the best-selling Running range mixes energetic and bold block colours with sheer, futuristic lightweight fabrics with drawstring detail to create gathering and volume for stylish, sophisticated silhouettes.

Alongside this season’s latest Gym Studio, Tennis and Running collections, the range continues to offer the categories Golf, Gym Yoga, Gym Dance, Swim and Cover Ups.

I bought a couple of pieces from the first collection that Stella McCartney did for adidas, and up to now, they still look so good! I actually use it more as casual wear than sportswear though, haha. But its super worth it! Get your Stella fix at the adidas Sport Performance store, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell.

Nesting

I haven't really bought anything since I got pregnant. While I'm itching to buy shoes, no can do! I'm freaked out about my feet growing, although thankfully, they're still the same size as of now! (Oh please stay this way!) I don't really buy clothes because I have no plans of buying maternity clothes at this point. While I actually bought a top from Gilt Group two weeks ago, they shipped the wrong item to me so I had to send it back (among other Gilt Group disasters related to that single order that it deserves a whole post of its own)! So yeah, I guess that's a sign not to shop! Haha!

But hey, what if it's furniture? I can keep it and sit on it no matter how much weight I gain right? And besides, Dear Hubby needs new computer chairs, because he keeps on complaining that the ones we have weren't comfortable. So borne out of Dear Hubby's requirement for a comfy computer chair and my need to spend (haha!), I got two chairs for him! One for the computer desk in our room, and another one for the desk in our library/office/guest room!

Welcome our dear Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs...

Sorry about the clutter, I've been too busy with my Topshop stalking I haven't really had time to get any housework done! Hahaha!

Thanks Sarj for ordering, delivering and carrying these chairs for me! You are a home decor genius/handywoman! Heehee! Now if only I can make that Staples computer desk magically disappear!

Topshop Opens Tomorrow!

As if you needed any reminding, haha! Here's the latest as of today, Wednesday, April 1!

Although by the looks of all these photographers waiting outside, something exciting was already going on inside! (According to Racked, Sir Philip Green and Kate Moss were inside the building!)

I suppose my Topshop stalking has paid off somehow, because I was rewarded with the sight of this! The Heartschallenger Truck aka the Topshop Goodie Bag Truck at Prince and Crosby at around 2 PM!

Unfortunately, they ran out of goodie bags! See the empty truck? Cute Marimekko seat cover though!

But I still got a gift card, thanks to this girl handing them out! Besides, if the gift card I got has $500 in it, I can so do without a tote bag!

Admittedly though, the tote is quite cute! As you can see from our young models here...

And here...

Now I got hold of a Topshop gift card as I was hoping! Yay! Thing is though, I have to spend it on opening day itself!

What a clever marketing ploy! I had no plans of going to Topshop tomorrow, but now I have to because I might just be carrying a gift card loaded with $500 (cards may have a value of $5 to $500, and can be used with a minimum $10 purchase)! Oh, you better have $500 in there, or else, Berry will get mad at me for dragging her to a possibly crowded situation! Haha!
