Flashback to Chloé

Early this year, around March thereabouts, Barneys came out with a capsule collection of Chloé's greatest hits. Case in point, the Chloé Paddington, flared denims, and this wedge, among others:

I fancy myself a Chloé girl, circa S/S 2006. That was the season Phoebe Philo returned from her maternity leave, and came out with a collection that inspired me then as it does today:

Eyelets and cutouts are hot again this season, so whenever I look for white tops and dresses, I somehow can't help but look for something reminiscent of Chloé's S/S 2006 pieces. Now if only I could travel back in time.

What's Up, Ankle Strap

I am totally in love with this look!

The first time I went out with Dada, I wore a pair of ankle strap heels from Kenneth Cole. I still have it. Berry specifically asked me if she could have my "high heels". I tell Berry to take care of it because that's what I wore when I first met Dada. I should take a photo para you can see. It's still nice up to now.

Good thing I kept it. It's so hot this season! As in smokin'! There's an ankle strap for everyone, from Lola, to Tita, to y tu Mama tambien! Check these out yo! All from net-a-porter:

Gucci - for your sister, because she's tired of all those predictable neutral heeled sandals

Chloe- for Sofia Coppola, because I can totally see her in these

Alexander Wang - for your high school best friend who has a weakness for "look at me" shoes

Nicholas Kirkwood - for you, yes, for you!

Marni - Lola will love these because of the chunkier than usual heel

Saint Laurent - for your disco loving Tita

RED Valentino - for your girly tween who now wears the same size of shoes as you

Givenchy - for your chic cousin who is always impeccably dressed

Esteban Cortazar - for your neighbor whose style icon is J. Lo

Givenchy - for your understated but always glamorous Mom
Pierre Hardy - for your artsy best friend who hates that you hate color

Blast From the Past

top: Bimba & Lola, jeans: J Brand Lovestory, bangles: Alexis Bittar & Fenton/Fallon, belt: J.Crew,
bag: Mulberry Alexa, wedges: Chloé

Good thing the 70s are back with a vengeance. I am finding myself reviving stuff from the recesses of my closet, not that it's deep. Got these J Brand Lovestory jeans from eLuxury back in 2006. eLuxury has since been replaced by Nowness.com.

These J Brands are skinny on the thighs and flare down once they hit the knee. They're the most perfect flares I've ever had, and it's a shame I hardly get to wear them because I don't really wear heels or wedges in my daily life.

Except this day, when my friend Frances passed by for us at our apartment for our brunch with the kiddos. Which meant we didn't have to walk far, or take the bus or subway. So, I took my wedges out for a spin , and after three long years, they again saw the light of day.

Kids Start Young at LITTLE BG

Hey, in case you missed my story on LITTLE BG for the Radar last Sunday, you can read it online here!

A couple weeks back, Berry, my sister Nicole and I went bright and early to Bergdorf Goodman, way before they opened (had the store to ourselves)!, so I can take photos of their newly launched children's section called Little BG (Thanks to Gracci of thestylishtot.com for editing my photos!)! So pretty! Here's a virtual tour!

This is what greets you as you step out of the elevator. The striking cream and ebony hallway leading to Little BG.

Pretty vignettes of dresses and girlish accoutrements!

The swim section filled with robes, cover-ups and of course, swimsuits!  The prints are too adorbs! So fresh and bright!

In the middle of Little BG stands this "tree".

Now, let's hear it for the boys. Love the playroom set-up!

Little BG has a comprehensive layette offering, complete with a Moses basket!

Little BG stocks Papo d’Anjo and Florence Eiseman, Bonpoint and Antik Batik, Philip Lim and Chloé. The department also features exclusive collections from Le Guignol, Le Nouveau Ne and Bergdorf Goodman Collection, in addition to favorites such as Tartine et Chocolat, Little Marc Jacobs, Junior Gaultier, Baby Cz by Carolina Zapf, Loro Piana, Baby Dior, Hickey Freeman, Charvet, Vilbrequin, Isabel Garreton, Joan Calabrese and Petit Bateau.

Notwithstanding the impressive and well-edited collection, Little BG is simply just a delightful place! According to Jim Gold, President and CEO of Bergdorf Goodman, “LITTLE BG will reflect the style, quality and creativity for which Bergdorf Goodman has become known. We hope it will become a destination for exceptional children’s products.”

From what I've seen, yes moms, LITTLE BG is the place to train your kids to appreciate quality and thoughtful design. When you have the chance, bring them here and enjoy every time spent with them while it lasts. Next thing you know, the girls would rather shop at the second floor where the shoes are, and the boys would rather go the men's department across the street. Kids grow up in a New York minute.

LITTLE BG is on the seventh floor of Bergdorf Goodman, located at the corner of 58th Street and 5th Avenue, New York, NY.
