LeBunny Bleu Fall/Winter 2013

Sometime last month, Zerl Chan Ortiz-Luis of LeBunny Bleu Philippines and Chloe Lopez, PR for the brand, invited me & Berry to check out the Fall/Winter 2013 Collection of LeBunny Bleu. 

It truly felt like Fall in store, where ballet flats, loafers and oxfords were rendered in rich details and textures, with animal and checked prints, embellishments and embroidery, shimmery metallics and other sumptuous textures incorporated artfully into each pair.

But it was the introduction of their kids line that really got me excited the most. I loved how the kids styles came with matching adult sizes, so moms & kids can play dress-up in similar outfits. It was just too adorbs.

But I found myself gravitating towards these gorgeous embroidered smoking slippers. Very Hugh Hefner.

Not to say that I didn't like the other pairs from the Fall Collection, because it was pretty tough to choose when you've got styles like these too:

Of course, fall dressing would not be complete with their version of toasty warm Ugg boots that also come in both kids and adult sizes

However, it was love at first sight for these Violas. It really was just a toss up between the maroon and the deep green:

Before deciding, I distracted myself by choosing sensible black school shoes for Berry, for her to wear when she starts big school next school year.

With that settled, I decided on the dark green version. It was a neutral enough shade that would guarantee lots of wear.

I guess you can say, "I found some bunny to love."

Travel with MANGO

I am often asked, “Where do you shop for cold-weather clothes in Manila?” 

Well, with the holidays fast approaching, and you are planning to spend it abroad with family and friends, you might want to shop for your cold weather gear and travel clothes at MANGO.

Here’s a tip though when planning your travel wardrobe – travel light. The last time I packed for our trip to LA/Vancouver I just had 2 jackets, two pairs of dark jeans, leggings and a couple of tops, and tights to keep me warm in chilly weather for an almost two week trip.

If there’s one thing I learned from all my years of traveling, traveling light is an art form in itself. You can’t just dump stuff into your suitcase. You really need to think outfits through and make sure you get the most mileage with each piece.

Take for instance, dark skinny jeans. To me, this is a travel essential that will go from sun up to sun down. I found a great pair of jeans from MANGO’s Premium Denim line – super slim, with a regular waist (neither too high nor too low) that hugs at the right places. Comfortable enough to be worn inside the airplane, it’s also great for shopping and sightseeing as well as a night on the town.

Not bad for Php2,750 ha!

There is nothing chic about lugging huge suitcases for a week long trip, so really, travel light. Besides, why use up all your baggage allowance when you need it for the return trip home? Otherwise, where else will you pack everything you’ve shopped?

LeBunny Bleu Opens Flagship Store in Shangri-la Plaza Mall

LeBunny Bleu is New York born & bred 

Zerl Chan Ortiz-Luis and her sisters, the ladies behind Quirks Novelties & Curiosities, are up to something quirky once more, bringing in LeBunny Bleu, quirky footwear that are playful as they are practical.

Last July 26, they opened the LeBunny Bleu flagship store in the East Wing of Shangri-la Plaza Mall, to the delight of all the girly girls in town. 

The brightly lit shop, which had a country cottage feel to it, was filled with flats of all styles and colors, from ballerinas to oxfords, boat shoes and espadrilles that were given the LeBunny Bleu touch - ribbons, flowers, sequins, trompe l'oeil effects, you name it.

Of course, bunny references abound, in the form of hardware, metal logo plates and such.

All these flats appeal to the kids in us, no doubt. Come September, the Fall Collection comes in, plus real kids' styles and sizes will be in store. So kids and the kids at heart will have a grand time browsing and shopping LeBunny Bleu.

As for the price? Just like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit. Prices range from Php1,995 to Php2,895 a pair. Hop on over, and bring home a pair.
