I was invited by Lyza Gutierrez of Nixon to the media launch of Nixon's latest Fall/Winter collection  the other day and the watches this season are just all too good! Unlike some watch brands that just slap on their label on whatever styles a factory in China comes up with, Nixon watches are designed by a team who really get the surf, skate and snow lifestyle. Drool drool drool...

More than just watches, Nixon is also now into apparel and accessories, turning out to be quite the lifestyle brand. But, back to my first love, the 42-20 Chrono. So here's the new color this season, which is now available in Manila. It is called "Gun & Gold" from the Hudson Street collection:

I swear, with the 42-20, you can never go wrong, especially since they come in all these colors that are just TDF! I've spotted these at the Nixon website and they are are amaaaazing as well:

16 Weeks: Red, White & Blue

I am supposed to be staying at home, taking it easy, but I was craving for cobb salad and when Dada suggested we have lunch at Texas Roadhouse Grill, I was game of course! Hee! Here's my lazy weekend outfit, at 16 weeks:

For 42-20, stocks will come in by December as well, this is priced at Php25,000.

Say Hello to Segnatempo

If you love timepieces, the sort to wear everyday, but special enough to make a statement, then Segnatempo in Greenbelt is the store for you. This specialty retailer houses watches from Nixon, Movado, Burberry, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, just to name a few.

I got a glimpse of some of their pieces in store, and this is the one I am most excited about, the Nixon 5130! Sort of like the 42-20 which I blogged about almost a year ago. So ladies, if you want a big badass gold watch, this here is the answer! ;)

Then of course there's the Nixon Matte Black/Surplus collection which is totally military inspired. I can actually see myself wearing this too. 

For fans of the Bell&Ross Aviation Collection, the Volta, Nixon's first solar charged watch has sorta the same square face and rugged aesthetic. If a stainless steel band is preferred, then the Riot should be right.

The Time Teller P is a fun and very affordable line from Nixon - whether you like bright and juicy colors or classic blacks and navy, there's a color that's right for you. I think this will also make a cool kiddie watch.

Wanna Buy Watch?!

I have had big, bad, gold watches on my mind for years now, and while I would love to borrow Dear Hubby's massive gold watch for "wala lang" days, because his watch is the ultimate, I know he won't let me. Because even he can't seem to wear his watch out even on special occasions, so why me? Hahaha!

 

The gorgeous, blond Brazilian girls I would see at my FIT Continuing Education classes wore Swatch Full Blooded Unisex Watches, but I dunno, the style still didn't appeal that much to me. It was "pwede na", but didn't make my heart go thump thump thump:

So, when I saw the Nixon 42-20 Chrono, just today (I know. Where have I been hiding?!) I told myself, dizizit! 

Such a big, bad-ass, in-your-face gold watch. Without the big, bad, in-your-face price! Well, it's not that cheap at $450, but it's no $25,000 Rolex ala the Olsens!

 

So there, yeah, I found my good for everyday gold watch. I want you Nixon!
