Go Love Life! with Sangobion

Sangobion wants us women to Go Love Life!

If you remember, a few weeks ago, my fellow brand believers & I pledged to treat ourselves better. Because hindi na uso ang martyr ngayon, ok?

And also because, Sangobion believes that by focusing on our own well-being and pampering ourselves once in a while, we learn that in order to give love, we must begin loving ourselves first.

Many women feel that they should put their partners, or their family before themselves, and while it's very noble, it can also be counterproductive. Sangobion tells us why:

The demands of modern life often make women feel pressured both at home and at work – making it easy for women to neglect themselves. The Sangobion Go Love Life! campaign reminds women that while we take care of others, we must not forget to take care of ourselves as well. When we are at our best selves, then we can lead a life that we love.

Regularly taking time off and boosting your health with Sangobion® can help you to go and love life. Unlike other iron supplements, Sangobion contains Ferrous gluconate, an organic iron, which is absorbed better by the body to help fight the signs of iron deficiency. Each capsule is chocolate-scented that leaves no iron after- taste.

Sangobion® also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese to build healthy red blood cells and immune system. It also contains sorbitol which acts as anti-constipating agent that generally occurs in iron supplementation.

Furthermore, Sangobion® helps fight signs of iron deficiency like fatigue, paleness, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration which women experience when they neglect themselves.
Taking Sangobion® everyday can help you boost your iron, so that you can look and be at your best.

Sangobion® is also partnering with select establishments to treat women to special pocket events including a shopping spree and a makeover session, which are expected to draw in more women to the cause.

Sangobion’s new efforts truly show women that caring for others also means having a healthy relationship with yourself. It’s about loving yourself first so you can fully embrace the life you lead.

My Sangobion Promise

A few days ago, Sangobion, my primary and preferred source of iron, tasked me to a challenge.

They asked me to take one tablet of Sangobion every day for 15 days, with a promise to do something that will get me to take care of myself better, to fight the signs of iron deficiency so I can Go Love Life!

Here's what I promised...

I pledged to make exercise a daily habit, because as much as I know that it is good for me, it's the first to go when I have a busy day ahead.

I know some people can't start their day without exercise, but I am happy to do it 3 times a week. Even if I do feel good after a run on the treadmill, or get energized after getting a good stretch from Pilates. Maybe because it isn't part of my daily habit yet.

That's why I have made it my promise. To exercise every day, and hopefully build it into my daily routine.

Because I know that with Sangobion, I will always have the energy to exercise and go about my daily tasks. Woohoo!

A Sangobion Christmas

Sangobion made Christmas a lot more special, not just for their invited guests, who were treated to another hilarious show by Giselle Sanchez as the Sangobion Salaminkera,

but most especially for the families affected by Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, who were endowed with a generous donation via the Philippine National Red Cross.

Janette V. Alcaraz, Director of Fund Generation of Red Cross with Ramonito Tampos, President & Managing Director of Merck

This, on top of earlier donations they have made during the height of the typhoon relief efforts.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to see friends I've made along the way, before the holiday craziness took over!

Had fun catching up with Jenni Epperson, Rowena Wendy Lei, Jackie Go & Jane Uymatiao

Thanks so much Sangobion for hosting a fun & unique Christmas celebration, and especially for remembering our fellow Filipinos who need our help the most!

Sangobion for Iron Ladies

From L to R: Top Row - myself, Rowena Lei, Jackie Go
First Row - Amanda Jacob, Cheska Garcia, Jenni Epperson, Joy Cabrera,
Dr. Corazon Gamilla,Fidji Miranda, Frances Sales, Mr. Art Dapasen

Early this month, Sangobion invited me and my fellow brand believers to a luncheon in Makati Shangri-la hosted by Amanda Griffin-Jacob, the highlight of which was a talk by UST OB-GYN Department Chairman Dr. Corazon Zaida N. Gamilla.

Basically, she said that as a woman ages, she also faces greater demands. “In order to cope, she needs to pay attention to her health. When signs of fatigue, paleness, as well as lack of focus and energy start to show, it could be telling symptoms of iron deficiency. Iron-rich food such as red meat, egg yolks, legumes, and green leafy vegetables should be made a regular part of one’s diet. But more than that, an iron supplement is also necessary to maintain good health,” she stresses.

Enter, Sangobion. It helps restore the iron reserves in the body. Because it is Ferrous Gluconate, which is unlike Ferrous Sulfate, it is more easily absorbed by the body and has a less metallic aftertaste. Sangobion also contains Sorbitol, a known anti-constipating agent since ordinary Ferrous Sulfate can contribute to constipation.

What’s more, Sangobion contains vitamins and minerals including Vitamin C, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Copper Sulfate and Manganese Sulfate. It also comes in a convenient chocolate-scented capsule.

I am still breastfeeding Xavi and I make sure to take Sangobion daily. It's a must not just to keep my energy up while taking care of 2 active kids, it also helps ensure I get my much needed dose of iron, vitamins and minerals while nursing our growing boy.

PS - Thank you to my cute date for accompanying me to the Sangobion luncheon!

Why Women Need Sangobion

Why is Iron a necessary element for optimum health? Let me count the ways:

- to replace blood loss during menstrual cycles
- cure bouts of dizziness caused by anemia
- correct weariness and fatigue
- help gain more focus & concentration
- aid in periods of gestation, lactation, pregnancy, and such periods surrounding childbirth
- it is also required for the normal functioning of the immune system

Some sources of iron in our daily diet include red meat, eggs, liver, oatmeal, nuts, as well as food supplements and formulations like Sangobion.

But Sangobion is more than just iron, because it's contains vitamins and minerals that women need to stay in tip top condition while dealing with the demands of daily life. Just a tip, from one girl to another. Wink! Wink!

Sangobion for Kids

When I was younger, I was anemic, so my mom made me take this iron syrup that was so nasty, it felt like torture to drink it.

Sangobion® realizes that most Iron syrups in the market have a salty, astringent taste which makes it difficult for children to take. That is why there is Sangobion® Syrup for kids, which, as with regular Sangobion®, contains Ferrous gluconate and Vitamin B-complex to fight iron deficiency the gentle and yummy way.

Why is Sangobion® Syrup better for kids? Well, because...
  • Ferrous gluconate offers iron deficiency treatment with less metallic aftertaste than Ferrous sulfate.
  • Has less gastrointestinal side effects than Ferrous sulfate.
  • Comes in a sweet FRUITY TWIST flavor!

If you've got anemic kids, don't even bother with regular ferrous sulfate. Save yourself the trouble and just go for...

Because Ferrous gluconate > Ferrous sulfate!

Sangobion & The Salaminkera

Shakira says "Hips Don't Lie". But the Salaminkera says, "The Mirror Doesn't Lie".

That was the premise of Salaminkera, "the woman on the mirror" played by comedienne Giselle Sanchez. Coined after the term “salamangkera,” a Filipino word for magician or wizard, the Salaminkera does not mince words and forces a woman to face the truth, no matter how unpleasant it is.

I know right, Salaminkera? To be honest, when I was asked to save the date for Salaminkera, my initial reaction was, "OMG I hope this isn't chaka!" But as soon as I received the invite and saw that Giselle Sanchez was fronting the show, I let out a sigh of relief and was actually excited to see her on stage for the media launch/press event hosted by iron supplement brand Sangobion at The Conservatory in Manila Peninsula.

And what a rollicking good time it was! I found myself laughing at her crazy jokes. The lady behind me was busting out guffawing at every spiel. To think that the topics Giselle was talking were about serious matters to us women: beauty, love, family and career and how to juggle all four.

It was definitely a fun way to spend my mid-day with my friend Jackie Go, and I also had fun chatting with our fellow Sangobion Brand Believers: Cheska Kramer, Jenni Epperson, Frances Sales, and Rowena Wendy Lei. Over lunch, we bonded talking about our kids, losing the "puson" and sharing parenting tips that it felt like I've known them for a long time. Nothing really bonds women like motherhood, no?

I have to hand it to Sangobion. They found a novel and entertaining way to discuss the three signs of iron deficiency, extol the numerous virtues of iron, and why it was best to take Sangobion of course.

My OB-Gyn actually recommended that I take Sangobion while pregnant with Xavi because it was easier on the tummy. This is because Sangobion is NOT ferrous sulfate. It is primarily made up of ferrous gluconate, which is organic in origin, making it the most easily absorbed of all ferrous salts. It also has less gastrointestinal side effects compared to ferrous sulfate. Sangobion also contains other vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, vitamin B12, folic acid, Sorbitol, and other minerals. Winner divah?

As for the Salaminkera? Catch her on June 9 at the Lower Ground Level, Building A of SM Megamall! The show is open to all!

Sangobion is an organic iron supplement that has benefitted Filipinos for over 30 years. It fights signs of iron deficiency such as fatigue, paleness, lack of concentration, dizziness, and weakness.

Among the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, Merck constantly aims to provide the best pharmaceuticals and life science solutions to patients and customers across the entire country.
