The $100 Shopbop Gift Card Goes to...

GJANECO who wanted Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses!

Out of 60 comments/entries (1 to 60) on my giveaway post, and 19 tweets (entries 61 to 79), the 12th comment won!  This is truly random, but how cool is it that my birthday falls on the 12th of November, and the 12th entry won?

Gladys, have fun choosing which DVF dress you want! You'd have to cover the balance, but $100 gift card is still $100 off the sticker price! ;)

Winter Kate, Velvet and Patterson J. Kincaid + $100 Shopbop Gift Card Giveaway!

Since I'm too far away from my shopping mecca NYC, let me remind myself that Shopbop is second best to NYC shopping! Because with free worldwide delivery in 3 days or less, that's as good as shopping in the US myself, hello hello!

Ok fine, we need to spend at least $100 to get free shipping, but that's so easy! For one, it's not hard to spend $100 in Shopbop, and second, why not consolidate and shop for your family and friends as well?

Take for instance, my mom loves layering with kimono tops, so I can get my mom one of these Nicole Richie designed Winter Kate cardigans:

My sisters would probably like this dress from Velvet by Graham & Spencer:

But with 3 sisters and 2 SILs, at $185 for one dress, uhmmm, I might have to look for something "inspired" by this, heehee!

Oh oh! But I can buy myself this shirt dress from Patterson J. Kincaid, heehee:

As for you dear readers, it's my birthday tomorrow, so, one lucky reader will win $100 Shopbop gift card to spend on yourself or a loved one, courtesy of Shopbop & myself! Here's what you have to do:

- Leave a comment and tell me what you want to buy from Shopbop
- Leave your email address so I know how to contact you
- If you follow me @cd_mfo and @shopbop on Twitter, tweet about it i.e. "@cd_mfo I want a ____ from @shopbop", that's an extra entry!

Contest ends 11:59 pm on November 21, 2010, Manila/Singapore time!

Shopping SOS: Summer Color Palette

I'm a recent convert to having a capsule wardrobe and I think one of the topics rarely discussed is how to decide on a color palette for purchases.  If you have any tips on this, I'd love to read about it!  The first one I did had a nautical theme so that was easy.  However, coming into summer, I want to add a few pieces and have sort of hit a wall. - Cha

Hi Cha! So so sorry for getting back to you so late on this one! To think that summer is about to give way to fall, because we've got fall pieces trickling into stores!

The beauty about having a capsule wardrobe though is, it will withstand seasons.  (For those not familiar with capsule wardrobes: It's basically made up of core pieces that will allow you mix and match to create new looks, even if all you've really got is a few pieces.)

To make sure that colors in your wardrobe blend well with existing pieces, just make sure to stock up on neutrals. Neutrals that blend well together are: blush tones, grays, whites, beiges, browns, camels, khaki, army greens, and blacks. Here are a couple of looks from Shopbop.com that show how great these colors look together or when mixed with denim, stripes, plaids or prints:

Hope this helps Cha! Sorry again for the delay!

Currently Obsessing On...

Heather Gray Jersey Blazers!

(Flipside Blazer from Anthropologie, $88)

(Knit Boyfriend Jacket from Express, $79.59)

(Juicy Couture's Fleece Double Breasted Blazer at Shopbop, $148)

(Monrow's Fleece Jacket at Shopbop, $181.50)

(Torn by Ronny Kobo's Dianne Blazer at Shopbop, $317)

Not quite a sweatshirt and not as dressy as a blazer, it's the perfect slouchy jacket for Spring! Actually, it was Sarj who originally wanted these in a darker shade of gray. We saw racks of these in Uniqlo (and the cheapest of the lot at $39.50) but we ended up leaving the store with nada. I couldn't stop thinking about it and I went back a week later with the mission of getting one for myself and for Sarj, only to find out that everything was gone in our size! That's how hot these are!

Now, I can only dream of wearing this with jeans or cut-off denim shorts. Sigh.
