Calling All Harvard Alumni for "Harvard Spring"

Dear Readers,

Lately, Dear Hubby has been working hard outside of his regular work hours preparing for an important project. Turns out, that project is this big Harvard alumni event, called "Harvard Spring".

So, if you and/or any of your family and friends are alumni of Harvard, I strongly encourage you to calendar and attend this event. This is expected to be the biggest get together of The Harvard Club of the Philippines since the past few years!

Guest speakers include Mr. Oscar M. Lopez, Chairman Emeritus of Lopez Holdings Corp., and Hon. Florencio "Butch" Abad, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management. The event will be hosted by Atty. Adel Tamano (of the Tamano Perspective fame on ANC) and Atty. Karen Jimeno - both alumni of the Harvard Law School, like Dear Hubby.

Harvard Spring is meant to commemorate Harvard men and women who have made a difference in the country. Expect a lively discussion of the past, present and future of the Philippines.

Sponsorships for Harvard Spring are still available.

Admission is FREE for all Harvard alumni. To confirm your attendance or for sponsorship opportunities, please email Dear Hubby, the Executive Director of The Harvard Club of the Philippines, at dychiaolaw@gmail.com - thanks and would appreciate it a lot if you could help spread the word!

To Baby & Beyond

A week or so ago, Auntie Lyn of Baby & Beyond on P. Guevarra Street in San Juan sent Berry a bag of goodies from her store. She noticed that Berry loves her gold mary janes from Tip Toey Joeys and wears it often here in the blog. Which is so true! She's about to outgrow her pair, but its just so comfortable that she wears it even if her toes are starting to get squished! So thanks so much Auntie Lyn for her new Tip Toey Joeys!

Auntie Lyn also sent over items from Munchkin - bath toys, a feeding set and a Dora sippy cup. Now, we have been using Munchkin products ever since Berry was a baby. The products are not only BPA-free and well-designed, they're very affordable too! The Fresh Food Feeder is my favorite, because it really took a load off my worrying over Berry choking on food when she started eating solids.

Turns out Baby & Beyond is not only a hidden gem of San Juan, a pretty baby boutique on the ground floor of Strata Suites (same building where I pick up my Pinkerton Ice Cream fix - more on that in a separate post!)...

...they are also the exclusive distributor of Munchkin and Tommee Tippee products in the Philippines. Which they also sell in their store, of course! Oh by the way, they are also a stockist of Grandma's Secret Spot Remover and Vapor Soove (check out the counter above!)

Baby & Beyond also carries DwellStudio products as well as the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System, which are distributed by my friends Oliver Sy and Gretch Uy of Quirks Marketing Philippines:

Then, like I said, there's Berry's ultimate favorite shoe line Tip Toey Joeys - they carry styles for both little boys and girls! I promise you, if you get a pair for the little one in your life, they will wear it until it disintegrates (which I doubt it will, but you know what I mean). Super soft and cushy, with enough protection on the soles.

And if you are looking for pretty cribs, nursery sets and gliders/breastfeeding/rocking chairs - pieces I've only seen in the US, Baby & Beyond is your best bet. They carry various nursery furnitures from Babyhood

They also stock Salt-Water Sandals and organic clothes from Nature Colored, among other well-curated baby items. So parents, grandparents, aunties/uncles and godparents, if ever you are in the San Juan area, and you want to shop in peace for baby shower, christening and birthday gifts, away from the busy malls, visit Baby & Beyond. I'll be doing my baby shopping here too, so convenient!

Style Star: Michelle Williams

One of my favorite girls is Michelle Williams. I never really liked her in Dawson's Creek, but outside that show, I think she's a pretty cool girl, and she dresses so cute too! Pregnant or not, I love how her style is always young, unfussy and effortless.

I've seen paparazzi shots of her, just walking around New York and even her regular clothes have the same cool, relaxed vibe. One can pretty much tell that she appreciates classic pieces, great, well-made clothes, but dressing up does not consume her.

Anyhoo, on to my favorite looks as seen on Michelle Williams:

Isn't she the cutest pregnant woman? Matilda is a big girl now, but these dresses from when she was still in Michelle's tummy years ago, can still be worn today.

Cute dress, no accessories. And I love how she paired it with these nude & cream platforms. Unexpected.

Love this Chloe shift dress! Again, see how she barely accessorizes with a bracelet (not seen here), round toe pumps and a nude clutch.

Again, a simple striped shift dress with front pockets and slightly pointy pumps. No accessories.

Of course, she truly glams it up on the red carpet. Remember her striking yellow Vera Wang gown? It is a dress that has seared its place in red carpet history.

While she looks great in color, she manages to blow away in black & white as well! And now I leave you with Michelle in this pretty peplum ensemble from Jason Wu.

P.S. - I hope peplum sticks around until after I give birth! I really want to wear a peplum dress like this! Heehee!
