MFO Anniversary Blog Giveaway: 5 Cambridge Satchels

Back in 2009, I came across Cambridge Satchels. My friend Naomi, who was based in the UK at the time said it was the biggest time thing to hit the streets there. By 2010, I saw the satchels over at Tommy Ton's blog Jak&Jil and by July 2010 I blogged about it. I know, it took me a while to share, because the Philippines was so designer bag crazy then.  But by 2010, there was no denying these colorful satchels were going to take the world by storm. You all just had to know about this! You probably read about it in this blog first! ;)

Around the time I blogged about it, Naomi was also talking to Cambridge Satchel about having their old school satchels brought to the Philippines. It took months to produce and ship, but they finally made their way to schu! With help from influential friends in the blogging community, they just simply burst into the scene and schu was flooded with orders!

These days, as predicted, they have become a hot commodity the world over that The Cambridge Satchel Co. just can't make enough of them to satisfy everyone. It requires a lot of patience to get your hand on one of these babies. The wait can really be a challenge!

MFO Turns FIVE!

Well, in two weeks and I have a PERSONAL blog giveaway in the works ;) (Thank goodness the folks at DTI are more practical and rational about these things, unlike some self-styled "experts" and advocates diba?)

A Pink Satchel for A Little Lady

I have been called a bad influence many times, because of this blog. But spare me on this one! 

My friend Naomi thought of this herself - that 11" Cambridge Satchels are the perfect size for our little ones. I would have to agree. Besides, weren't Cambridge Satchels originally made for school children?

It is just the right size no? Naomi just shortened the strap and looped it around several times so it wouldn't hang loose. So cute!

Bright Bags!

Fluo satchels are hot, hot, hot! Kate Spade has been making news about their SS 2011 bag - the Essex Scout some weeks back, and now these are in stores!

The regular size retails for USD $395, while the small one is $295. I didn't really bother checking the price here in Singapore because I know it's more expensive. Besides, The Cambridge Satchel Co. is coming out with fluorescent satchels (as seen on the March 2011 issue of Elle UK) and we all know how much more affordable Cambridge Satchels are right?

Cambridge Satchels Coming to Manila Soon!

Yes! You read that right! The schu ladies Ruby & Jayjay, my friend Naomi, and myself have made it possible for you to get your very own Cambridge Satchel! Because we've got a shipment coming by JANUARY 2011, and will be available at schu shops!

The thing is, quantities are extremely limited, and I am afraid that with our friends and family alone, who have been bugging us daily about them, we might run out of stock before February rolls around.

So, we figured, we'll be taking orders for the next shipment as early as now! Hmmm, let's see. It takes 4 weeks to produce and a couple more weeks to ship out, so these will be coming in by March 2011. You've got all the time to save up, even though honestly, these all-leather bags are so well-priced, you don't really need to count your pennies ya know! We don't have landed cost as of yet, but just to give you an idea, we'll be pricing these at less than Php 10,000 per bag (could be much less but def not over), so no worries about spending too much!
